Marketing Intern: FairWays to Leadership

Position Summary

The FWTL Marketing Intern will assist in developing and executing communication strategies that promote the organization’s mission, amplify program achievements, and increase visibility across key platforms. This role will work closely with the Executive Director, Student Experience Coordinator, and FWTL Ambassadors to manage digital outreach, content creation, and brand alignment across all marketing channels.

Timeline & Structure

  • Duration: Summer 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026

  • Hours: 10–15 hours/week (flexible, remote)

  • Compensation: $20 per hour

  • Location: Fully Remote (some travel opportunities may be available)

Responsibilities

Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

Brand Storytelling & Content Creation

  • Develop compelling social media and blog content to promote events, alumni stories, and organizational impact.

  • Assist in content planning and execution for campaigns, including the Day of Giving, internship launches, and student highlights.

  • Edit and design digital graphics, flyers, and promotional assets using Canva or similar tools.

Social Media & Engagement

  • Schedule and monitor posts across Instagram, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.

  • Support live social media coverage during events and leadership forums.

  • Track engagement analytics and recommend strategies for increased reach.

Email & Website Communication

  • Draft and format newsletters and email announcements using Mailchimp or similar platforms.

  • Assist in updating website content (event announcements, student stories, impact reports).

Event Promotion & Support

  • Coordinate with program staff to promote student and partner events.

  • Create event recap posts, quote graphics, and short-form video content to highlight key moments.

Strategic Communication

  • Help align messaging across platforms to reflect FWTL’s values and mission.

  • Support the development of communication toolkits for partners and ambassadors.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a college or university program (Marketing, Communications, Journalism, PR, or related field)

  • FairWays to Leadership program graduate

  • Experience with Canva, Google Workspace, Instagram, and LinkedIn

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Creative thinker with an eye for visuals and messaging

  • Passion for social impact, youth leadership, or the game of golf (not required, but helpful)

Work Environment & Travel

This role is fully remote but requires 25% travel for student events and organizational initiatives.
